Hi,
I am Madhu, I have sony cybershot digital camera model T7 and currently I am
getting error C:13:01 error.I have changed memory stick however still I am
getting the same. Please let me know what all are the options I need to try to fix the problem.
appreciate your quick response. Thanks and regards
Madhu

You stumped me! I havn’t actually heard of that error yet. However I did search the net and a few fixessony_logo.jpg did turn up.

  • “Here’s the solution that finally worked for me. Take any lead pencil. Take the eraser and rub it on the gold contacts on the memory stick as if you are erasing writing on paper. Do this for about 30 seconds or more until you get all the gold contacts. Put the stick in the camera, switch to ‘Setup’, then turn the camera on. The ‘C:13:01’ error will automatically disappear. At this point, quickly format the memory stick using the camera’s format feature.” -Robert Roque
  • Try to take out and then reinsert the card many times. Recommended will be about 20. (I forgot where I read this.)
  • Keep in mind these are not my fixes and I can’t verify if they will work or not. They have certainly worked for some people.

From both “fixes” it sounds as if the error stems from a problem with the contact between the camera’s card reader and the memory cards themselves. Now if the camera is under warranty it should be covered, but I’ve heard that Sony may try to charge you.

Let me know how it turns out and if it doesn’t work I’ll make a call to Sony for you.

  1. We had the same error C:13:01 We fixeded by opening the adapter and unbebdening the contac line. Because one of our contac thing was bend.We found this problem by inserting and taking out the card many times, after you do that you will see a scratches on gold side of the card,If you could not see sratches on one of the slots, then you have the same problem that we had. We hope this is going to help.

  2. Whoever suggested the rubber trick – it saved my life today! Brilliant – Managed to recover over 150 photos you cannot replace. Many many thanks for tip!!!!

  3. Oh WOW! This worked! Thank you so much! The C:13:01 error was still flashing, but I attempted to format it anyways, and IT WORKED! You saved me a $200 memory stick! :D

  4. Hi the fake geek! do you think the error hasnt caused my memory card to get corrupted? Ive already tried slightly banging my camera (dsc v1) and downloaded pc inspector and sony’s memory card recovery but none of it helps :((

when i attached the usb cable to my computer, it says that it isnt formatted. what should i do now? :((

  5. I think the eraser technique is pure trial of luck. Didn’t work for me.

All I can say is SONY is going down with its brand name……..
They used to be expert in digital world now they are trying to expert in how they can rip you off with cheap unreliable products…

  6. Hey there Amar I’ve heard bad things about EVERY brand. Hit and miss really.

Pamela you said you tried PC Inspector? It might be corrupted but I would try the card in a similar camera and see what happens.

    Good luck!
