How To Fix Snapchat Not Logging In/Connecting, Being Stuck On Verifying Device

If you’re trying to login into snapchat but are unable to because the app is giving an error message or just frozen worry no more.

If you’re getting the error message “Verifying Device” or “There was a problem connecting to the server. Please try again” or “Oh No! Your login temporarily failed”, then here’s how to easily fix it.

Try the fixes in order.

Fix #1: Make Sure Google Play Services Background Data Are Enabled

Many users have reported that the problem was caused by having disabled Google Play Services Background Data and forgetting to re-enable it. Or the services just disabled on their own. Regardless make sure that Google Play Services Background Data are running.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open your phone Settings (it’s an app in your app drawer)
  2. Tap on Data Usage
  3. Tap on Google Services
  4. Scroll to the bottom and make sure that “Restrict background Data” is unchecked

Fix #2: Clear Snapchat Cache

Sometimes stopping the snapchat app, clearing it’s cache and then restarting it do the trick.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap on Apps
  3. Swipe to the right until you get to the ALL section
  4. Find Snapchat and tap on it
  5. Tap on Force Stop
  6. Tap on Clear Cache
  7. Go back to the home screen and open Snapchat again

Fix #3: Clear Google Play Services Cache

Sometimes stopping the snapchat app, clearing it’s cache and then restarting it do the trick.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap on Apps
  3. Swipe to the right until you get to the ALL section
  4. Find Google Play Services and tap on it
  5. Tap on Clear Cache
  6. Turn your phone off and then back on.
  7. Go back to the home screen and open Snapchat again

Fix #4: Check for updates to Snapchat and Google Play Services

Open the Play Store app and check for updates to both Snapchat and Google Play Services. You may have declined an update in the past that solves the issue you are having.

  8. THIS SAVED MY LIFE. I’m genuinely being serious. I wasn’t able to log into my snapcha for DAYS and I was constantly relying on other people’s phone’s. During this time period, my play services was screwed up so nothing run by Google, including Google itself, was working. I followed all these steps and it fixed my whole phone!! In addition, I had saved Snoachat on my SD card. I had transferred it back onto my phone for this process and it seemed to work. :)
